Bufo refers to the secretion of the Sonoran Desert toad (Incilius alvarius, also called Bufo alvarius), native to the Sonoran Desert of northern Mexico and the American Southwest. A full Bufo session with us includes preparation, ceremony, and initial integration time — typically 3–4 hours in total. The active experience itself is 15–45 minutes. You will be lying or sitting in a comfortable, held space. Your practitioner will be present with you throughout — not to intervene in the experience, but to hold the container and offer support during the return. You will not be left alone. A profound Bufo experience can shake your entire worldview loose. Without integration support, the insights can fade, and the opening can close. Integration is not optional — it is the most important part of the medicine journey.
